The magical allure of the snooze button
I’ve been meaning to write somehing about the snooze button for a while now, but it took me reading a post about it by cousineddie to get me up for the task. Cousineddie asks us:

As far as crazy stunts go, this Tynan guy has got to be up there. He decides, after checking out a ‘Penguin Web Site‘, that he’s going to get himself a pet penguin. Yes, you read the right, a pet penguin.
Since ngregory00 has gone ahead and slipped back into posting email forwards, I think I’m allowed to post at least one. For my first humorous forward, I’m going with:
Words Women Use
“Fine” - This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
“Five Minutes” - [...]
It appears the blog was down from about 2PM until either 4 or 5PM today. I’m not sure what the problem was, because I couldn’t even access my host provider’s web site to submit a service request. I checked the network logs for the company and they don’t list any problems even though [...]
I saw ‘King Kong‘ this past weekend with my girlfriend, and it was a GREAT movie! The absolute best thing about the whole film is how well they created Kong himself. The attention to detail in everything from the leaves caught in his hair, to the scars on his brow and the chip in his tooth were just amazing. For a character that was completely created in CGI and never spoke a word in the whole film (besides roaring), you really identified with him. Peter Jackson did a very good job of having Kong be a very expressive character through his facial movements, mannerisms, and actions. I believe Andy Serkis (the voice and character actor for Gollum in LOTR), actually did King Kong too.
It’s not exactly breaking news at this point, but if you haven’t seen Bill O’Reilly’s appearance on David Letterman, then you’ve missed a hell of an interview! I hate Bill O’Reilly as much as the next ’semi-intelligent and pretty-informed’ guy, but I could probably never be around the pompous blow hole without ripping his larynx out. So please enjoy, with me, this beautiful and ever so poignant segment I like to call “Letterman Rips O’Reilly a New One”:
I was just checking the logs for the blog and noticed a lot of the traffic was coming from the ‘EA.com’ domain. I thought “This is a little strange”. So I did a little digging and found out almost all of the traffic was visiting a particular post, Warcraft ‘Switch’ Commercial. I figured that someone who worked there must have found the video funny and passed in on via email or something, since I didn’t see a referring link at first.
It actually turns out that the traffic was coming from a post in a forum for a World of Warcraft clan called ‘Shado’, or ‘Circle of Friends’.
Well, I was just browsing over at ‘Blogthings’ and saw one of their questionnaires titled ‘What’s Your Japanese Subculture?‘. I knew I couldn’t pass this one up. So here’s the results:
