Hughes or St. Pierre in UFC 65?
So who’s going to win this one? Matt Hughes or Georges St. Pierre in UFC 65? Watching Hughes’ last fight, I was one of those hoping he’d knock B.J. Penn the fuck out. He finally did it, but it was in the third round and Hughes had trouble taking Penn down for almost the whole fight.
I didn’t see the first Hughes/St. Pierre fight back in 2004, but I have seen St. Pierre fight a few times since then. I was really surprised about how well-rounded the guy was. He was taking dudes down, boxing, kicking, and submitting people. I’ve heard Hughes talk smack, but I think he’s going to have his hands full this Saturday night in Sacramento.
We all know how ’strong’ Matt Hughes is. And yes, Hughes is a damn big farm boy, but GSP is ripped all over. I saw him riding legs on some guy last year before he submitted him with a rear naked choke, and it looked like he was going to crush the guy’s ribs with his thighs.
I love how SpikeTV and UFC play up the fights though. They keep using the footage of Georges telling Matt that he wasn’t “impressed with your performance.” Followed by the Canadian’s heavily-accented English going on about how he’s going to “sub-meet heem” and “knock heem owt”.
All I’m saying is, I’m glad there’s crap like this to watch. Who the hell wants to watch pay-per-view boxing matches that are already fixed?
Oh yeah, and that behemoth of a man, Tim “The Maniac” Sylvia is going to be fighting someone 11″ shorter than him. Jeff Monson, the 5′ 9″ 240lb. challenger looks meaner than Sylvia though. He’s built like a miniature tank. Hell, he might even have a chance if he can keep from being knocked out by Sylvia’s fists.

[...] I might as well go ahead and say it. I’m a profit. Just call me “Mojodamus“. I should have put money on St. Pierre, because I smelled an upset coming a mile away. Now I think it’s time to wonder “who the hell can beat GSP?” [...]
