425 Feed Readers? Unpossible!
Yesterday was the highest traffic day at Gangstas & Hugs in recorded history. Not surprisingly, it was directed to a post of a video that I had nothing to do with creating. All I wanted to do was share the stupidity of a father who let his 14 year old behind the wheel of his brand new $50,000 car. I’m not really proud that the only time G&H had greater than 5,500 pageviews in a single day happened when I posted someone else’s video. But I’ll take it! Thank you StumpleUpon!
Yes, you read that right… 425 readers for the G&H RSS feed! I go from 60 or so for the last week, to 102 on Saturday, to 425 on Sunday. Not that it means anything, since the vast majority of those new “subscribers” won’t be subscribing very much longer. I just wanted to relish the moment when that little FeedBurner graphic over there in the sidebar actually showed a number so high. I know I’d have to blog for another 10 years AND write shit that’s a lot funnier to get that many “real” readers, but a guy can dream can’t he? To give you a better idea of how big the spike in traffic was, here’s a screen shot from trusty ol’ Sitemeter (after the jump):

Looks like a couple hatchets from an old video game like TRON, except TRON never had “hatchets”. More like “laser throwing disk thingies”.
I am now officially “one of those bloggers that steals other people’s shit”. OK, not really stealing per se. More like trying to look cool by wearing someone else’s hipster t-shirt and telling everyone it’s my own design.
OK, this has been very exciting and all, but if I’m ever going to create my own crapola that will generate this kind of traffic I’ve gotta go get started. If you have any bright ideas that would help me with that, let me know.

Obviously, real and hillarious videos where shit either blows up, gets destroyed, or when something involves boobie draws a crowd.
Phoenix: Yup, you’re right. Nothing like carnage or sex to bring in the crowds.
hey, you deserve every one of those 425 subscribers, whether they exist or not!
hey, *I* subscribe.
Dedd: Awwww… stop it. You’re making me blush.
Just wanted to say, I’ve been reading your blog since I found you via ‘Blogs R 4 Wimps’ (in the days of Frodo Corleone). But I’ve never subscribed via the feeder. So, you have way more readers than that.
I was wondering where my “readers” were — obviosly here!
Cherish the moment!
yllwdaises: Awesome! I do miss me some BR4W… but I’m glad you think I’m that popular!
rockyjay: Oh I’m cherishing it alright… maybe it’ll turn into some crazy moola!
I don’t use that new-fangled reader thing. I good old-fashioned click my friend.
Riss: (In best Borat voice) Whhaaaaaaaaaaat? Niiiiice. I like. Maybe I make sexy face and you show me ‘old-fashioned’ click. Like my sister. High five!
*Jealous* I’d be shocked if I have FIVE!
COMPLETELY unrelated and totally left field: am I the only one unimpressed by Jay-Z’s comeback?
nicole: Whatever. You have got to have one of the most active commenting sections of any blog I know.
