One Year Anniversary

Well technically, the one year anniversary of Gangstas & Hugs was August 24th, but who’s counting? Its been an interesting year. And things have changed quite a bit from August 24, 2005. First of all, I wish I had saved screen shots of the old themes and templates the blog used to have. Some of those first ones I went with were just crap. But hey, everybody’s gotta start somewhere, right?

I’ve also learned a whole lot in the last 12 months, not the least of which is how to hide your blogging practices while at work. I’ve also ‘met’ a few people who are also bloggers, albeit only online, whose blogs I’ve really gotten to enjoy, and who are always gracious enough to stop buy Gangstas & Hugs and leave their witty comments.

I promised a few surprises along with the new look of G&H, and I won’t disappoint. The first surprise I’d like to unveil is a whole new set of ‘Categories’. By this I mean there are going to be certain types of ‘regular’ posts you can look forward to. The first of which is going to be tomorrow. For those of you still interested, there’s more after the jump.

I’ll go ahead and blow this one. The new category I’ll be uncovering tomorrow is “Last Year“, in which I will cover a blog post I wrote in the week 12 months prior. This is mainly to make fun of myself for something I probably didn’t think a whole lot about before writing. So go ahead and yuk it up at my expense.

But before that, I’m going to go over some stats (that are only really important to me, but I’ll go ahead with them anyway). According to Sitemeter, here are Gangstas & Hugs’ traffic statistics for the last year:

Total visits: 77,830
Total Pageviews: 126,140

Here are the numbers for the blog itself (as of this writing):

Total Posts: 206
Total Comments: 1,712

And of course this look back just wouldn’t be complete without listing some of the most popular posts from the last year. These aren’t necessarily my favorites, but apparently they became pretty popular with the search engines. After viewing them I’m sure you’ll figure out why.
