Blog of the Week - Touch My Belly
I came across ‘Touch My Belly‘ while doing a review for BlogLaughs (review here). I wasn’t sure what to expect, since the site’s design is a pretty generic Blogger template. But you definitely can’t fault it for that. Here’s the premise of the blog:
A project by Gideon Boomer, “Touch My Belly” started in 1999. The concept is a simple one: Convince stranger(s) to touch my belly while being photographed. There are only two rules for the project: I can’t know the person touching my belly and I can’t pay anyone for doing it. Gotta be a stranger who will do it for free. The real art of the thing is in the pitch. “Touch My Belly” is updated as often as possible! Enjoy.
Gideon seems to have really gotten his ‘pitch’ down to a science too. He has posts dating back to June 2005, and seems to post about 4 to 6 times per month. While the pictures are funny by themselves, I find his picture captions and post write-ups to be just as hilarious. Here’s my favorite picture, which he calls “Disco Stu“.
I’ve run across that site before - totally cracks me up! hey, i’d touch his belly. he’s kinda cute… :D

minijonb: I’m glad I could oblige! And thanks for the compliment… I’ve been meaning to redsign it for months now, but it just kept getting put off with work. That last one was awful, I couldn’t figure out how to get it to work righ in both IE and Firefox.
