Hook, Line, and Sinker…
I posted recently about a jackass who was writing about his lawyer career in a big firm. Of course I was critical, verbose, and downright full of myself when writing about his content. I decided to check his blog again and noticed the first entry was about him trying to reach an associate in New Orleans all night and there was no excuse for it. I thought to myself “even a moron would know about the Hurricane”. Then it dawned on me that this guy probably isn’t a moron, and that everything he is writing is for entertainment purposes. What a catharsis! With my brain now fully awake, I finally read the tag line underneath the blog title:
“Stories from the trenches, by a fictional hiring partner at a large law firm in a major city.”
Now, instead of going back and deleting my previous post or editing it so
that it looks like I knew about the farce all along, I chose to leave it as-is.
Mainly as a reminder to myself that even a guy with a decent amount of common
sense can stick his foot in his mouth, corns and all.
