BlogLaughs
A few months ago I had started reading a blog called “site name removed“. It was funny and the author had a dry and sick sense of humor I really enjoyed. Apparently a few too many people found out about it at his place of employment, and he didn’t want to risk any managerial backlash so he started a new project called BlogLaughs. I’m really excited about this endeavor. The tagline for the blog is: “In Search of the Funniest Blogs on the Net …” Which is quite an undertaking in and of itself.
I have little place in my heart for ‘contructive criticism’, as it’s actually pretty hard to get. It’s much easier to receive unabated bashing, say from bitches with too much time on their hands. Here’s what had me excited about the idea for the blog:
Blogs will be reviewed on several criteria, including humor content, posting frequency, design, graphic elements, grammar, advertisements, and many other areas.
Some reviewers will have particular pet peeves, but no reviews will be the opinion of just one person. The moderator of this site is a magazine editor with more than 16 years of journalism experience, but each review will be culled from the opinions of several experienced bloggers.
I love the fact that all of the reviews will be compilations from multiple reviewers and will have a set of criteria to look for. Not to mention that they will be covering my favorite type of blog: the humor blog!
I can’t wait until they get started, and I’ve offered to help in the review process also. So hopefully I can steal some funny shit from better blog writers! Oh wait… did I just write that? I meant, hopefully I can get some exposure to some very high quality comedic minds!

I had just started reading Used Hack as well, and damnit if he had to shut it down. I’m glad he’s up and running again. It sounds like a great concept.
Sounds like this will be a more respectable establishment than that other place. Let us know when they make you an honorary reviewer. ;)

Have you been writing reviews? I just sent mine in for this week. Of course I’m a fucking procrastinator.
JJ: Yeah, I’ve sent a few in. I was even quoted in a couple ofthe reviews so far (anonymously of course). I’m gonna have to get on the ones for this week though.
The reviews aren’t necessarily supposed to be funny, but many of the reviewers are genuinely funny people. So, some of the comments are funny.
The main objective is highlighting some really funny blogs. It’s going to take a while to gain a readership and get a reputation but I think the site will eventually be pretty good. We’re working on a redesign too.
