Quote of the Day - Tastes like chicken

I was at my girlfriend’s mom’s house yesterday. Both of her nieces and her nephew were there. The little nieces are as cute as buttons. The older one of them is a doll and is as sharp as a whip. The younger one is cute and funny, except when she feels like being a little shit (it’s ok, everybody says it).
The younger one likes to listen to grown-up conversations and then repeat parts of what she hears that she thinks are the most interesting. The part of the grown-up conversation she thought was interesting this time was, “…tastes like chicken.” And this is how she put her own 4 year old spin on it:
“I like butterflies, cause… they TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!”
Why is that so funny to me?

My wife and I still quote things our nieces, nephews, and children have said over the years.
Of course, with my memory, I always ask, “Who said that?”
wait… maybe butterlies DO taste like chicken… she knows something.
I like butterfly fingers with a side of ranch.
