Well, I was just browsing over at ‘Blogthings‘ and saw one of their questionnaires titled ‘What’s Your Japanese Subculture?‘. I knew I couldn’t pass this one up. So here’s the results:


You Are a Henna Gaijin!


You’re not Japanese, but you wish you were!
You can use chopsticks with your eyes closed, and you’ve memorized hundreds of Kanji.
You even answer your phone “moshi moshi.”
While the number of anime videos you’ve seen is way higher than the number of dates you’ve been on, there’s hope.
Play the sexy, mysterous gaijin, and you’ll have plenty of Japanese meat.

What’s Your Japanese Subculture?

Apparently, I’m a Henna Gaijin. Hmmm… yes, I’m not Japanese, but I don’t necessarily wish I was, although living there for a while would be pretty bitchin’.

And yes, I can use chopsticks with my eyes closed, but I have no idea what any Kanji mean, let alone memorized a one.

I barely answer my phone, and when I do, it’s more like “Helluh?” than “Moshi moshi“.

I’ve probably seen a total of 10 to 15 anime movies in my life, and only a handful made sense. So I guess that one is just plain wrong.

OK, I’ll go ahead and admit to this one. I’ll play the mysterious ‘Gaijin’ as much as it takes to get me some Japanese meat! If it’ll get me all the sashimi and eel rolls I can eat, I’ll even put on one of those cute little Japanese school girl uniforms.

And if someone fluent in Japanese Subculture wants to enlighten me about my humble ‘Henna Gaijin‘ roots, please do!

    I think you should start answering your phone with Moshi Moshi. I might. At least it would cause a lot of telemarketers to hang up, eh?
