From the Pot
Technology really is amazing. I’m writing this from my perch atop a Lamosa ‘Sahara’ model toilet. Not the most comfortable of seats, but the flush sound is pretty nice. I guess some might call that a great thing, but I don’t know if I agree. Would Socrates have written anything worth noting if he had the chance to reach people from his pooping-ground? Probably, but I’m no Socrates. I’m just a guy who has trouble getting up to go to work in the morning, even though I like what I do.
So how convenient has technology really made our lives. Is it really helping that much? Won’t I just be ridiculed for writing something while having a really good BM? Not to mention having the camera phone picture my buddy just took of me plastered all over the internet.
So think of it this way: Is the prevelance of technology in every facet of our daily lives such a great thing? Do we really garner more insight into the human condition because urban socialites can post to their blogs 5 times a day from their mobile phone? I’m not answering those questions or anything. Hell, I remember how great it was to play text-based games on the neighborhood BBS’s with only one phone line. Now that I can play Half-Life 2 while answering the call of nature, am I now that much closer to happiness?
Ah, screw it… time to take a picture of my dookie and send it to all my friends.
