Super Speedy Sonic Soils Soup Supply
The first video game system I ever bought myself was the Sega Genesis. 16 bits of unadulterated gaming power, and I saved up enough money to buy it myself. You want to know what made a 13 year old save up $130 by mowing grass and doing odd jobs around the neighborhood? It was the first commercial for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog‘. As soon as I found out that the new game was being bundled with the Genesis, my mind was made up. I was gonna sell my soul to get one of those god damn game systems if I had to!
The first Sonic the Hedgehog game was actually a blast, and I couldn’t believe how fast the game moved. I bought Sonic 2, and I think I played Sonic 3, but since then I haven’t really played any of the Sonic games. But I do remember how much fun I had playing that first one as an adolescent with too much time on his hands and too many stolen Hustler mags under the bed.
So I was pleasantly surprised to come across this little flash program that allows me to make my own Sonic-themed characters. So here are my creations:

I was SO hoping you were gonna say that you found that missing part I lost from MY Sega Genesis. I’ve been fiending for some Sonic action for probably a DECADE!
And no, your characters aren’t ghey. They’re just not overly MACHO, is all. ;)

nicole: Actually I probably have the part you lost. I kept all that shit. Between me and my brothers we had almost all of those consoles except the Nintendo 64.
And they aren’t macho? Ahh man, that’s what I was going for. Well, it is a bit hard to make a really masculine character out of Sonic-themed parts.
JJ: SNS was awesome for Super Mario Cart, Super Mario World, and Zelda: Link to the Past. After those, Sega Genesis was better!

I almost failed 2 classes in my first semester of college because of Sonic. That evil, evil hedgehog. But you know last year I picked up that PS2 game with all the Sonics. Pretty awesome. Brought back memories.
Ah, I never got into Sonic when it was popular but about ten years ago I started dating a girl who had a Sega Mega Drive on which we played Sonic, Sonic 2 and Sonic and Knuckles pretty constantly for about two years. It drove me nuts, she whupped my ass!
