Dave: I can definitely see how the forced layout of the ad can be frustrating. Luckily it works in my sidebar, but I can definitely see how it could really mess up other blog layouts. Maybe Performancing will address this in the future.

Poobah: Well I guess it all has to do with your level of sellout-edness. I've always been an ad-sellout, so I figure its ok to experiment with different ads on the blog.

I'm actually paying for my hosting fees plus a little extra every month with my ads, mainly because of Text Link Ads. It took a while for an advertiser to purchase an ad on my site, but once they did, I've been getting a monthly payment every month for 4 months now. If you're interested in the amounts, just email me and I'll be happy to share those with you.

I've been wondering if I should start some ads, but I'm torn over it. Is there really enough money to be made to make ads worth the trouble?

I have signed up for this and added it to 3 of my sites. I am having the same 'irk' on all 3 - I can't right or left justify the ads to the edge of my sidebars and it kinda throws the design off. The placeholder they have up is centered, and I assume the actual ads will do the same.
