Wherefore Art Thou iPod?

It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted, and for that simple fact I apologize. Last week I was on a ‘vacation’ of sorts, and this week has been hell at work with moving offices and catching up on everything I’m behind on.

But do you know what the worst part about these past couple weeks has been? It’s been the absence of an iPod from my life. My artful companion that went everywhere with me. To work, in my truck, to work out… EVERYWHERE!

JK-47: DJ and Turntablist Extraordinaire

I’ve had a number of unique friends over the years, and one that really sticks out in my mind is JK-47. He’s one of my youngest brother’s best friends and he just happens to be a DJ and music producer. Besides that, he’s funny as hell and he thinks our family is the “coolest group of white people ever”. I’ve thought that myself, but its nice to have validation. My mom loves him because whenever he comes over to my parents’ place, he always makes a big deal about giving her a hug. And since she’s one of those ex-hippy, artsy-fartsy, touchy-feely types, she absolutely loves it.

Colbert, Bring the Noise, and BBS Geeks

If you haven’t already caught the buzz about Stephen Colbert’s appearance at the Whitehouse Correspondents’ Association Dinner, then you’re really missing out. I was pretty shocked to hear that Colbert, who has my second-favorite show on Comedy Central, was invited to speak at the dinner with President Bush sitting just a few feet away.

Music Nostalgia

I recently came across a CD in a CD Player that I hadn’t used in years. It was an Acer CD-R that was blank except for my trademark “X” that I put on everyone of my CDs with a permanent marker. I actually thought it was probably some dumb mix CD that I must have burned for a friend a long time ago who never picked it up. Imagine my surprise when I listened to it and discovered it was the First CD I Ever Burned from Napster!

What’s on my iPod right now…

To start off with, I was very surprised and pleased when I found out the last post I submitted to reddit.com ended up staying on the front page for quite a while (and still might be there). Of course I can’t take real credit for the post being popular, since it’s just a cool video, not any of my witty and sarcastic writing.

Acoustic rendition of Usher’s “Yeah!”

This is an acoustic performance of Usher’s “Yeah” using a loop pedal. Pretty damn entertaining if you ask me.

Go ahead and take a gander:

Lazy Monday - Color Me Mine

Well, in the same vain as Chronic of Narnia, it looks like there have been some parodies already in the mix. Check out this video of “Lazy Monday” from the West Coast…

Ding, Fries are Done!

Well, in honor of Johnny Knoxville’s new movie “The Ringer”, I’m gonna go ahead and cross the line and go to hell. If you feel like watching one hilarious flash file, please continue. (But don’t say I didn’t warn you…)

Chronic of Narnia

UPDATE 2.19.2006: Since Youtube.com took down the Chronic of Narnia video, I’ve replaced the one on this post with a quicktime version that I’m hosting on Gangstas & Hugs. You can download the quicktime version here.

Madonna, the Material Ass Girl

I was watching a little MTV this morning before I left for work (that’s the only time they play videos anymore damn it!) and I caught the video for Madonna’s new single “Hung Up“. Of course the first thing I notice is her ass. She’s wearing some eighty’s dance outfit that let’s her rump shaker [...]
